Special Gifts Theatre
SpSpecial Gifts Theatre (SGT) is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 2000 to provide individuals who possess a wide array of special needs (physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and learning) the opportunity to experience the joy and enrichment that theatre arts can bring. The program, though recreational in scope, is educationally and therapeutically based.
NISRA provides year round recreation activities for people with disabilities. Since 1976, children and adults of all ability levels have enjoyed socializing, building skills and having fun in hundreds of weekly programs, special events, camps and trips each year. NISRA serves the communities and park districts: Barrington Park District, Cary Park District, Crystal Lake Park District, Dundee Township Park District, City of Elgin, Hampshire Township Park District, Huntley Park District, City of Harvard, Village of Lake in the Hills, Marengo Park District, City of McHenry, Wauconda Park District and City of Woodstock.
NWSRA has enriched the lives of children and adults with disabilities as a partnership of 17 Park Districts located within the northwest suburbs of Chicago by providing outstanding recreational opportunities for over 40 years. Certified staff lead and oversee thousands of innovative recreational programs and services each year. In the heart of your community, individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to make friends, have fun, go new places, learn new things, be included and celebrate their lives at NWSRA. NWSRA serves the following communities and park districts: Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mt. Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, River Trails, Rolling Meadows, Salt Creek, Schaumburg, South Barrington, Streamwood, and Wheeling.
Battaille Academie of the Danse
Rising Stars and Shining Stars is a program for dancers with special needs mentored by our Integrity Dance Project dancers.
This program allows children with special needs to get involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills, confidence and socialization.Our Shining Stars dancers have the opportunity to perform in community events and competitions throughout the year. Rising Stars may or may not perform which is determined during the program. Classes are offered FREE OF CHARGE and are held at our Annex Location at 120 Lageschulte in Barrington.
